Obituary of Ervin E. Martin

Edelstein - Ervin E. Martin, 74, of Venice , Florida , for the past 10 years, formerly of Edelstein , Illinois , died at 1:58 a.m. Thursday, November 29, 2001 , at Apostolic Christian Skylines, Peoria .

Born May 15, 1927 , in Edelstein , Illinois , the son of Christian C. and Bessie Streitmatter Martin, he married Lorane L. Grimm on July 3, 1949 , in Algona , IA. She survives.

Also surviving are 3 sons, Kevin E. (and Sandra) Martin of Savoy, IL, Gary C. (and Denise) Martin of Annadale, VA, and Kenneth L. (and Cindy) Martin of Cordova, IL; 12 grandchildren; 3 brothers, Nathan (and Esther) Martin, Ellsworth (and Donna) Martin, and Gerald (and Louise) Martin all of Princeville, IL; and 4 sisters, Janet (and Sigfried) Schubert of Peoria, IL, Doris (and William) Michel of Morton, IL, and Arlene Martin and Arlys Martin both of Princeville, IL. His parents, twin infant daughters, and one sister, Alice Metzger preceded him in death.

He was a 1945 graduate of Princeville High School . He worked for Joan of Arc/Princeville Canning Company for 30 years, retiring as Vice President. He served on the Edelstein/Princeville Unit School District Board for 22 years. He also served on the Board of Directors of the First National Bank of Chillicothe . He was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church, Princeville, and the Apostolic Christian Church, Sarasota , FL.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, December 3, 2001 , at the Apostolic Christian Church, Princeville. Ministers of the Church will officiate. Visitation will be from 2 til 4 p.m. and 6 til 8 p.m. Sunday, December 2, 2001 , at Hammitt-Hott Funeral Home, Princeville, and one hour prior to funeral service at the church. Burial will be in Apostolic Christian Church Cemetery , Princeville.
