Obituary of Elwin L. Rumbold
Wyoming - Elwin L. Rumbold, 68, of Wyoming , died at 8:45 am Sunday, December 2, 2001 , at his residence.
Born June 30, 1933 , in rural Speer , IL , the son of Ezra and Lena Elsasser Rumbold, he married Loretta M. Martin on May 19, 1957 , in Roanoke , IL . She survives, along with 3 daughters , Marjie (and Steve) Loudenburg of Bradford, IL, Connie (and Kurt) Christ of Elmwood, IL, and Julie (and Brice) Teubel of Dunlap, IL; 5 sons , Mark (and Stephanie) Rumbold of Speer, IL, Michael (and Sheila) Rumbold, David (and Joni) Rumbold, Gregg (and Heather) Rumbold, and Jeff Rumbold, all of Wyoming, IL; his step-mother, Lucille Rumbold of Princeville ; 4 sisters , Marie (and Ezra) Knobloch of Inwood, Iowa, Joyce (and Glen) Metzger of Larchwood, Iowa, Jeanette (and Richard) Graham and Marlene (and Jim) Plattner, both of Princeville; 23 grandchildren and 1 step-grandson . His parents preceded him in death.
An U.S. Army Veteran, he served during the Korean Conflict. He then farmed in the Wyoming area, and owned and operated Rumbold & Kuhn Elevator, as well as Ezra Rumbold & Son Trucking. He served as a board director for both the former Valley School in rural Stark County , and also Prairie Villa in Princeville. He was a member of the Bradford Apostolic Christian Church.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 am Wednesday, December 5, 2001 , at the Apostolic Christian Church, Princeville. Ministers of the church will officiate. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 4:00 pm , then from 6 to 9:00 pm Tuesday, December 4, 2001 , at Hammitt-Hott Funeral Home, Princeville, as well as one hour prior to the funeral service on Wednesday at the church. Burial will be in the Apostolic Christian Church Cemetery , Princeville.
