Obituary of James S. Zielke
Princeville - Rev. James S. Zielke, 50, of rural Princeville, died at 10:00 pm Thursday, May 3, 2001 , near his residence.
Born September 21, 1950 , in Sparta , Wisconsin , the son of Paul William and Emma Louise Vieth Zielke, he married Deborah L. Oler July 31, 1976 , in Viroqua , Wisconsin .
She survives, along with 2 sons, Jonathan James Zielke of Deer Creek, IL, and Paul William Zielke,II, at home; 2 daughters, Charity Marie Zielke (and her fiancee Andrew Linder) of Bartonville, and Emily Louise Zielke, at home; 4 brothers, Daniel Zielke (and Janet) and Carl Zielke (and Janice), both of Viroqua, Wisconsin, Con Zielke (and Carol) of Tomah, Wisconsin, and Larry Zielke of LaCrosse, Wisconsin; 4 sisters, Ruth Ann Sabel of Franklin, Wisconsin, Marge Totten (and David) of Rockford, IL, Jean Kromke (and Duane) of DeSoto, Wisconsin, and Angela Lavota (and Dennis) of Racine, Wisconsin. He was preceded in death by both parents and 1 sister, Irene Zielke.
A 1969 graduate of Viroqua High School , Viroqua , WI , he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Pastoral Studies from Maranantha Baptist Bible College in Watertown , WI in 1976. He received his Ordination in 1976 at Bethlehem Baptist Church , Viroqua , WI . He also attended Tennessee Temple University in Chattanooga , TN. He served as Pastor of Berean Baptist Church, Tomahawk, WI for 4 ½ years before moving to the Princeville area, where he owned and operated Zielke's Construction, last working Thursday. He also served as Pastor of Fellowship Baptist Church, Sparland, for 2 ½ years until October, 2000. He also conducted Sunday worship services for many area nursing homes. He was a member of Princeville Baptist Church .
Funeral services will be at 1:30 pm Monday, May 7, 2001 , at Princeville Baptist Church , Princeville. Rev. Tedd Butler and Rev. David Tessmann will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 8:00 pm Sunday, with a prayer service at 8:00 pm at Hammitt-Hott Funeral Home, Princeville, and also visitation one hour prior to the services on Monday at the Church. Burial will be in Prospect Cemetery , Dunlap.
Memorial contributions may be made to Foreign Mission Work, in care of Princeville Baptist Church , or to an Education Fund for his children, in care of Princeville State Bank.
