Obituary of Herman A. Zuercher Dunlap - Herman A. Zuercher, 92, of Dunlap, died at 7:16 a.m. Wednesday, December 26, 2001 , at Proctor Hospital , Peoria . Born October 16, 1909 , in Peoria , Illinois , the son of Charles and Martha Roloff Zuercher, he married Jean Dimon on December 10, 1955 , in Dunlap , Illinois . She survives along with 1 sister , Mildred Goett of Macomb , Michigan . His parents, one brother and three sisters preceded him in death. He was a World War II U.S. Army Artillery Veteran. He worked as an optician for American Optical Company, Peoria for 45 years, retiring in 1974. He was the oldest active member of the Prospect United Methodist Church , Dunlap, where he served as usher and greeter. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 28, 2001 , at Prospect United Methodist Church , Dunlap. Rev. Mary Kathryn Pearce will officiate. Visitation will be 1-½ hours prior to funeral service at the church. Burial will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens , Peoria . Memorial contributions may be made to his church.
