Obituary of Leila V. Elsasser

Princeville - Leila V. Elsasser, 91, of Princeville, formerly of Edelstein, died at 5:37 a.m. Saturday, August 24, 2002 , at Apostolic Christian Skylines, Peoria , where she had lived since 1998.

Born August 23, 1911 , in Princeville, the daughter of Samuel and Caroline Rumbold Streitmatter, she married Christian J. Elsasser on December 23, 1931 , in Peoria . He died October 9, 1973 , in Peoria . Also preceding her in death was 1 infant son, 1 grandson, 6 brothers, and 5 sisters.

Surviving are 2 sons , Duane "Sonny" (and Doreen) Elsasser of Dunlap, and Jordan (and Sharon) Elsasser of Sparland; 15 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren .

She was a member of Princeville Apostolic Christian Church, where services will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 27, 2002 . Ministers of the church will officiate. Visitation will be Monday, August 26, 2002 , from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. then 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Hammitt-Hott Funeral Home. Visitation will also be held one hour prior to the funeral service on Tuesday at the church. Burial will be in the Princeville Apostolic Christian Church Cemetery .
