Corrected Obituary of Charles L. Gulley
Dunlap - Charles L. Gulley, 81, of Dunlap, formerly of Peoria and Canton , died at 4:00 a.m. Thursday, August 1, 2002 , at VA Illiana Healthcare Systems, Danville , Illinois .
Born April 15, 1921 , in Benton , Illinois , the son of William and Pearl Whittenberg Gulley, he married Irene M. Bishop Seiwell on June 12, 1998 , in Dunlap. She survives.
Also surviving are 1 daughter , Corine Lavern Gulley of Lewistown , IL ; 1 step-daughter , Roberta (and Earl) Scroggins of Dexter, MO; 2 step-sons , James (and Bonnie) Seiwell of Princeville , IL , and Edward (and Mary) Seiwell of Wadi Petra, IL; several step-grandchildren ; and several step-great-grandchildren . His parents and two brothers preceded him in death.
He was a World War II Army Veteran serving from October 26, 1942 til February 8, 1946 . He was a member of the Limestone American Legion Post #979, Bartonville and the UAW Local #974. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He worked for Caterpillar Tractor Company in East Peoria for 30 years, retiring in 1981.
Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 3, 2002 , at Swan Lake Memory Gardens , Peoria , with services conducted by Limestone American Legion Post #979. There will be no visitation.
