Obituary of Edith Deloyace Hankins

Peoria - Edith Deloyace Hankins, 60, of Myrtle Beach , South Carolina , formerly of Peoria , died at 7:42 p.m. Thursday, August 1, 2002 , at St. Mary's Ozaukee Hospital, Mequon , Wisconsin , where she had been a patient for 2 days.

She was born August 12, 1941 , in Walker County, Alabama, the daughter of Marcus M. and Geneva Smallwood Ashby.

Surviving are 2 sons, Robin (and Verna) Hoffman and Brian Hoffman, both of Kewanee, IL, 1 daughter, Rhonda (and Michael) Clark of Myrtle Beach , South Carolina ; 6 grandchildren and 2 step-grandchildren; 3 brothers, Roger (and Kathy) Ashby of Bartonville, Gerald (and LeeAnn) Ashby of Las Vegas, NV, and Terry Ashby of Willits , CA . Her parents and one grandson preceded her in death.

She attended Woodruff High School . She worked as a cook for various food vendors.

Cremation has been accorded. Graveside services will be 4:00 p.m. Friday, August 9, 2002 , at Prospect Cemetery , Dunlap. Rev. Erwin Mitchell will officiate. There will be no visitation.

Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association or Bartonville Fire & Rescue.
