Obituary of Lucile J. Mendenhall Princeville - Lucile J. Mendenhall, 89, of rural Princeville, died 6:35 a.m. Thursday, April 11, 2002 , at Toulon Health Care Center, Toulon . Born July 26, 1912 , in rural Princeville, Peoria County , Illinois , the daughter of Lester O. and Cora J. Distler Mendenhall. Preceding her in death were two sisters. She graduated from Peoria Normal School and took extension classes at Bradley University , Peoria . She taught 3 years in Peoria County one room schools, first at Henry School and then at Hazel Dell. She then taught for Peoria Public Schools for 29 years, retiring to run a small dairy farm for 10 to 12 years. She was a member of Prospect United Methodist Church , Dunlap; Peoria Retired Teachers Association; The Friendly Circle Club; and the Jubilee Needle Circle. She also was a trustee on the Dickison Cemetery Board for many years. Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 13, 2002 , at Dickison Cemetery , rural Dunlap. Rev. Mary Kathryn Pearce will officiate. There will be no visitation. Memorial contributions may be made to her church, Peoria Children's Home, or Salvation Army.
