Obituary of Zelma G. Noonen

Princeville - Zelma G. Noonen, 90, of Princeville, died at 4:40 a.m. Wednesday, January 30, 2002 , at OSF St. Clare Home , Peoria Heights .

Born December 10, 1911 , in Princeville , Illinois , the daughter of Lyle H. and Sarah E. Burns Bouton, she married Michael Clement Noonen. He died September 3, 1962 , in Princeville.

Surviving are 1 son , Bill (and Beverly) Noonen of Princeville, IL; 4 daughters , Marilyn (and Don) Dell of Princeville, IL, Joan (and Dick) Schmitt, Nancy (and Rich) Schaub, and Caryl (and John) Hanley all of Kickapoo, IL; 28 grandchildren ; 45 great-grandchildren ; 6 step great-grandchildren; 2 brothers , Donald (and Geneva) Bouton of Pekin, IL, and Daryl (and Minnie) Bouton of Peoria Heights, IL; and 2 sisters , Wilma Fairhurst of Bartonville, IL, and Helen Begner of Dunlap, IL. Her parents, one son, Eugene Noonen, one daughter, Doris Cramer, two sisters, one brother, and one granddaughter preceded her in death.

She worked as a janitor for Princeville High School , retiring in 1980. She was a member of VFW Auxiliary; Royal Neighbors; Historical Association of Princeville; and St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church, Princeville.

Funeral Mass will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 2, 2002 , at St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church, Princeville. Monsignor Richard Soseman will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 til 8 p.m. Friday, February 1, 2002 , at St. Mary of the Woods Hall, Princeville with recitation of the Rosary at 8:00 pm . Further visitation will be 1 hour prior to the funeral service at the church. Burial will be in St. Mary of the Woods Cemetery , Princeville.

Memorial contributions may be made to her church or Akron/Princeville Ambulance Service.
