Corrected Obituary of Violet M. Simpson

Dunlap - Violet M. Simpson, 93, of Dunlap, died at 9:53 a.m. Thursday, March 21, 2002 , at her residence.

Born September 27, 1908 , in Dunlap , Illinois , the daughter of Milo F. and Bessie Elizabeth Searle Gates, she married Victor E. Jacobson January 31, 1927 , in Peoria . He died November 2, 1966 . She later married Lewis G. Simpson August 22, 1975 in Toulon . He died July 7, 1985 .

Surviving are 1 daughter , Bessie (and Ben) Juliusson of Dunlap, IL; 2 grandsons, Steven V. Juliusson and Timothy B. Juliusson; 1 brother , Clarence M. Gates of Peoria, IL,; 1 sister , Marie Henseler of Dunlap, IL; and several nieces and nephews . Her parents, two brothers and one sister preceded her in death. Through the years she was a foster mother to 23 children.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 23, 2002 , at Hammitt-Hott Funeral Home, Princeville. Rev. Mary Kathryn (please use both names!!) Pearce will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to funeral services at the funeral home. Burial will be in Prospect Cemetery , Dunlap.

Memorial contributions may be made to Prospect United Methodist Church , Dunlap, or to OSF St. Francis Hospice.
