Obituary of Faye L. Streitmatter Speer- Faye L. Streitmatter, 76, of rural Speer, died at 5:55 a.m. Monday, March 18, 2002 , at Heartland Healthcare Center , Henry. She was born May 19, 1925 , the daughter of Rex and Mildred Essex Utterback, she married Russell E. Streitmatter August 9, 1946 , in Chicago . He died April 4, 1986 , in Peoria . Surviving are 1 daughter , Linda (and Pat) McMahill of Chillicothe, IL; 2 sons , Kenneth D. (and Penny) Streitmatter of rural Speer , IL , and Russell L. (and Debi) Streitmatter of Sparland, IL; 6 grandchildren ; 3 great-grandchildren; 1 brother , Robert J. Hoffstatter of Chillicothe , IL ; and 1 sister , Betty L. Short. Her parents and one sister preceded her in death. She worked as a secretary for John Deere Company in Moline for 4 years after graduating from high school. She and her husband farmed in the Valley Township area for many years. She was a member of the former Speer Congregational Church, Speer. Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m. Thursday, March 21, 2002 , at Hammitt-Hott Funeral Home, Princeville. Chuck Hemmer will officiate. Visitation will be 1-½ hours prior to funeral service on Thursday. Burial will be in Streitmatter Cemetery , rural Princeville.
