Obituary of Virginia M. Donath

Kewanee - Virginia M. Donath, 70, of Kewanee, formerly of Chandler , Arizona , for 18 years, died 5:22 a.m. Wednesday, June 4, 2003 , in the emergency room of Kewanee Hospital , Kewanee.

Born November 11, 1932 , in Peoria , Illinois , the daughter of Guy and Virginia L. Tucker Gibbs, she married William Donath on September 3, 1952 , in Peoria . He survives.

Also surviving are 3 sisters , Cleo McLaughlin of Dunlap , IL , Kay (and Lawrence) Bartman of Galva , IL , and Susette (and Tom) Tegtmeyer of Bonita Springs, FL; 1 brother , Dale (and Darlene) Gibbs of Roseville, IL; and many nieces and nephews . Her parents preceded her in death.

A 1950 graduate of Dunlap High School , Dunlap, she was a bookkeeper for Empire Machinery in Mesa , Arizona . She later worked as a secretary for Arrow Realty, Kewanee. She enjoyed quilting and was an avid antique collector.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 7, 2003 , at Hammitt-Hott Funeral Home, Princeville. Deacon Robert Murphy will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 til 8 p.m. Friday, June 6, 2003 , at Hammitt-Hott Funeral Home. Burial will be in Blue Ridge Cemetery , rural Chillicothe .
