Obituary of Preston E. Keller
Princeville - Preston E. Keller, 89, of Princeville, died 8:20 a.m. Tuesday, June 10, 2003 , at Heritage Manor in Chillicothe , where he had been the past 14 months.
Born April 5, 1914 , in Princeville , Illinois , the son of Riley and Bessie Ayres Keller, he married Marjorie Williams Bohannan on July 26, 1953 , in Peoria . She survives.
Also surviving are 1 step-daughter , Vickie (and Gene) Bush of Dunlap , IL ; 1 step-son , Lonnie (and Cindy) Bohannan of Dunlap , IL ; 3 step-grandsons ; and 2 step-granddaughters . His parents, one son, Randy Keller, and one brother, Karl Keller preceded him in death.
He was a World War II Army Veteran, serving from 1941 to 1945, and was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post # 248, in Princeville, where he served as past commander.
He farmed in the Princeville area, retiring in 1966. He later worked for Home Comfort and L.R. Nelson in Princeville. He was a member of the Princeville Cemetery Association for several years and also a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Princeville.
Graveside services will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, June 12, 2003 , at Princeville Cemetery , with Military Rites conducted by American Legion Post #248, Princeville. Visitation will be from 6 til 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 11, 2003 , at Hammitt-Hott Funeral Home, Princeville.
