Obituary of Bessie A. Latham

Dunlap - Bessie A. Latham, 94, of rural Dunlap, died 2:45 p.m. Sunday, July 27, 2003 , at the Lutheran Home, Peoria , where she was a resident for the past 11 months.

Born September 29, 1908 , in Excelsior, Wisconsin , the daughter of Tanner and Irene McLimans Walker, she married Rufus Latham on February 28, 1928 , in Gays Mills, Wisconsin . He died July 26, 1978 , in Chillicothe , IL .

Surviving are 3 daughters , Iva (and Ray) Frank of rural Dunlap , IL , Arlene (and Ed) Stafford of Fremont, NE, and Connie (and Gleon) O'Kane of rural Princeville , IL ; 10 grandchildren ; and 22 great-grandchildren . Her parents, two brothers and one sister preceded her in death.

She and her husband operated a dairy farm near Woodman, Wisconsin for many years, retiring in 1974. She was of the Methodist faith.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 30, 2003 , at Hammitt-Hott Funeral Home, Princeville. Rev. Mary Kathryn Pearce will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to funeral service at the funeral home on Wednesday. Burial will be in Prospect Cemetery , Dunlap.

Memorial contributions may be made to The Lutheran Home, Peoria , or Harbor Lights Hospice.
