Obituary of Elizabeth M. McIntire Kelch

Kickapoo - Elizabeth M. McIntire Kelch, 80, a resident of Liberty Village , Peoria , for the past year, formerly of Princeville and Kickapoo, died at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 24, 2003 , at her residence.

Born January 10, 1923 , in Loughborough , England , the daughter of Harry and Tryphenia Evans Jones, she first married Earl D. McIntire on February 26, 1944 , in Leicester , England . He died June 18, 1977 , in Princeville. She then married LaVerne Kelch on February 14, 1987 , in Princeville. He died June 1, 2001 , in Peoria . Also preceding her in death were 2 sisters, Rose Jones Gorman and Edith Jones Phillips, and 3 brothers, John and Harry Jones, and Arthur Jones Wright.

Surviving are 2 daughters, J. Sandy (and Tom) Tracy of Canton, IL, and Erminda "Mindy" (and Richard) Himlin of Boiling Springs, SC, 1 son, Wayne A. (and Karin) McIntire of Galva, IL, and 4 grandchildren, Amy J. Himlin, Thomas W. McIntire, Ross A. McIntire, and Chloe Elizabeth McIntire.

She worked on the production line for L.R. Nelson Company, then later for H.C. Products, both in Princeville, retiring in 1981. She was past-president of the Princeville American Legion Auxiliary, a former member of St. Mary of the Woods Church , Princeville, and a member of St. Mary's Church of Kickapoo , and its Altar and Rosary Society.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, December 29, 2003 , at St. Mary's Church of Kickapoo . Rev. Patrick M. Riordan will officiate. Visitation will be from 3 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday, December 28, 2003 , at Hammitt-Hott Funeral Home, Princeville, with recitation of the Rosary at 6:00 p.m. Burial will be in Princeville Cemetery .

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's School, Kickapoo, or a charity of the donor's choice.
