Obituary of Jimmy L. Pierce Princeville - Jimmy L. "Troop" Pierce, 66, of Princeville, died 4:06 p.m. Wednesday, February 12, 2003 , at his residence. Born June 27, 1936 , in Princeville , Illinois , the son of Howard William and Amanda Talbot Pierce, he married Carolyn Sue Lawrence on August 5, 1976 , in Peoria . She died July 9, 1996 , in Princeville. Surviving are 1 daughter , Angela S. (and Robert) Daum of Princeville, IL ; 5 grandchildren , Jody Daum, Elizabeth Daum, Raychel Daum, Blake Daum, and Emily Daum; 2 sisters , Donna Wells of Flippin, AR, and Mary Ann Parris of Salem, MO; and 3 brothers , Tom Pierce of Peoria, IL, Howard "Bill" Pierce of Winfield, MO, and Sam Pierce of Princeville, IL. His parents, two sisters and one brother preceded him in death. He served in the United States Air Force from 1954 -1958. He was Superintendent of Public Works for the Village of Princeville , where he worked for 39 years, retiring in 1999. He also served as Village Constable in the 1960's. He was a member of the Akron/Princeville Fire Department. Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m. Saturday, February 15, 2003 , at Hammitt-Hott Funeral Home, Princeville. Rev. Harry Losey will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to funeral service at the funeral home on Saturday. Burial will be in Princeville Cemetery , Princeville. Memorial contributions may be made to Akron/Princeville Fire & Rescue, Akron/Princeville Ambulance Service, or PRIDE(Princeville Resource Improvement & Developmental Endowment).
