Obituary of David Potter
Peoria - David Potter, 62, of Peoria , formerly of Princeville, died 7:30 a.m. Monday, July 28, 2003 , at Loyola University Hospital , Maywood , Illinois , where he had been a patient since April.
Born December 24,1940 , in Edelstein , Illinois , the son of Forrest Devillo and Irene Wilson Potter, he married Nancy I. Mooneyham on June 10, 1962 , in Princeville , IL . She survives.
Also surviving are 2 sons , Victor D. (and Laurianne) Potter of Cummings, GA, and Donald L. Potter of Chicago, IL; 1 daughter , Carla F. (and Mitchell) Hoffman of Brentwood, TN; 4 grandchildren , Meghan Potter, Jordan Potter, Rustan Hoffman, and Ian Hoffman; 2 sisters , Hazel (and Lee) Fritz of Dunlap, IL, and Fern Ralph of Marquette Heights, IL; and 3 brothers , Marvin (and Margery) Potter of Newton, IA, Everett Potter of West Peoria, IL, and Floyd (and Mary Jo) Potter of Princeville, IL. His parents and two brothers, Byron and Russell Potter preceded him in death.
He worked at Caterpillar Tractor Company for 40 years and was a member of the United Auto Workers Local #974. He also was a member of Church of Christ , Northwest Peoria . He served in the United States Army Reserves.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 1, 2003, at Hammitt-Hott Funeral Home, Princeville. Mr. Donald Truitt will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 til 8 p.m. Thursday, July 31, 2003, at Hammitt-Hott Funeral Home. Burial will be in Princeville Cemetery, Princeville.
