Obituary of Gerald E. Reid
Dunlap - Gerald E. Reid, 58, of 11324 N. Northtrail , died at 8:00 a.m. Thursday July 17, 2003 , at Methodist Medical Center , where he had been a patient since July 1 st .
Born July 23, 1944 , in Salt Lake City , Utah , the son of Emerson Grant and Betty Wilbur Reid, he married Amy Ann Hance on May 14, 1994 , in Morristown , TN. She survives, along with 3 daughters, Allison Carol Reid and Heather Ann Reid, both at home, and Hope (and John) Rutledge of Seymour, TN; 2 sons, Todd (and Wanda) Reid of Morristown, TN, and Kurt (and Terri) Reid of Knoxville, TN; 7 grandchildren; 1 brother, Gary (and Donna) Reid of Salt Lake City, Utah, and 1 sister, Jeanne Hunter of Salt Lake City, Utah. His parents preceded him in death.
He worked in major electronics for over 30 years, working as Manager of Service for Philips, Zenith, G.E., and Montgomery Ward. For the past 3-½ years worked as Vice President of Operations for Satisfusion in Peoria , last working June 27 th .
He was a member of Prospect United Methodist Church , where services will be held at 5:00 p.m. Saturday, July 19, 2003 . Rev. Mary Kathryn Pearce will officiate. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. Saturday at the church until the time of services.
Further visitation will be held Monday evening, July 21, 2003 , at Highland Memorial Funeral Home, Knoxville , TN , with graveside services Tuesday, at Highland Memorial Cemetery , Knoxville , TN.
Memorial contributions may be made to Prospect United Methodist Church , or to the American Lung Association for research into Pulmonary Fibrosis.
