Obituary of Margaret E. Tanner

Speer - Margaret E. Tanner, 90, formerly of Speer, died 4:40 p.m. Monday, July 7, 2003 , at Apostolic Christian Skylines, Peoria , where she had been a resident for the past three years.

Born November 10, 1912 , in Cissna Park , Illinois , the daughter of John and Julia Schultz Merkle, she married John Tanner on April 2, 1939 , in Peoria , Illinois . He survives.

Also surviving are 2 daughters , Wilma (and Melvin) Knobloch of Rock Rapids, IA, and Nancy (and Herb) Stoller of Germantown Hills, IL; 2 sons , Harold (and Imogene) Tanner and Richard (and Marilyn) Tanner both of Speer , IL ; 14 grandchildren ; 21 great-grandchildren ; and many nieces and nephews . Her parents and four brothers preceded her in death.

She was co-owner and operator of Tanner's Orchard in Speer for over 50 years.

She was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church, Bradford , Illinois .

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. , Friday, July 11, 2003 , at Apostolic Christian Church, Bradford. Ministers of the Church will officiate. Visitation will be from 2 til 4 p.m. and 5:30 til 8:00 p.m. Thursday, July 10, 2003, at Hammitt-Hott Funeral Home, Princeville, with additional visitation from 9:00 til 9:45 a.m. Friday, at Apostolic Christian Church, Bradford. Burial will be in Apostolic Christian Church Cemetery , Bradford .
