Obituary of Eva E. Berchtold Speer - Eva E. Berchtold, 90, of Speer, died 11:16 p.m. Monday, December 6, 2004 , at Methodist Medical Center , Peoria . Born March 10, 1914 , in Lawn Ridge , Illinois , the daughter of Joseph and Leah Estelle Pritchard, she married Robert T. Berchtold on November 6, 1934 , in Speer , IL . He died July 11, 1982 , in Kewanee , IL . Surviving are 2 sons, Duane Berchtold and Ronald (and Jackie) Berchtold both of Chillicothe, IL; 1 daughter, Nancy Johnson of Chillicothe, IL; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson; 1 sister, Hazel Mayne of Farmington, IL; and 2 brothers, George "Jack" Pritchard of Speer, IL, and Howard "Pete" Pritchard of Lacon, IL. Her parents, one son, Roger R. Berchtold, and one sister preceded her in death. She was a Princeville High School graduate. She was head cook at Valley Grade School for 22 years, retiring in 1973. She was a member of Blue Ridge United Methodist Church , rural Edelstein. She was a past member of the former Speer Congregational Church, where she was deaconess and a member of its Ladies Aide. She also was a member of the Speer Coffee Clutch. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 10, 2004 , at Hammitt-Hott Funeral Home, Princeville. Rev. Michael Robison will officiate. Visitation will be two hours prior. Burial will be in Lawn Ridge Cemetery , rural Speer.
