Obituary of Enid "Jo" Bouton
Princeville - Enid Josephine "Jo" Bouton, 84, a long-time Princeville resident, died at 8:50 p.m. Saturday, October 23, 2004 , at St Luke's Hospital, Duluth , MN .
Born September 17, 1920 , in Duncan , IL , the daughter of Harvey Lee and Emma Olsen Cox, she married Ralph Vaughn Bouton on October 21, 1938 , in Indiana . He preceded her in death April 20, 1998 , in Peoria . Also preceding her in death was 1 son, Ralph James Bouton, 1 grandson, James Michael Bouton, and 1 sister, Vera Pauline Cox.
Surviving is 1 daughter, Vera May (and Ronald) Huffman of Duluth MN, 1 grandson, Marvin (and Chareen) Huffman of Coon Rapids, MN, 3 granddaughters, Cynthia (and Duane) Eberle, of Princeville who was raised by Mrs. Bouton, Rhonda O'Neill of Princeville, and Jo Ellen Parker of Chickasaw, OH, 9 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild on the way.
In the 1960's she co-owned a restaurant in Princeville with Irma Tucker called the Prince's Café. In the 1970's she co-coached the local girls' softball team. She was a charter member of the VFW Gold Star Ladies Auxiliary Post 1255, and was a long-time league bowler. She was a life-long Chicago Cubs fan and a Republican. She enjoyed making beautiful quilts, crocheting, Christmas candy, and pies. She also enjoyed Saturday Night Pinochle and Sunday Morning Coffee with the church ladies.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 30, 2004 , at Hammitt-Hott Funeral Home. Rev. Harry Losey will officiate. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, October 29, 2004 , at the funeral home. Burial will be in Princeville Cemetery .
Memorial contributions may be made to the Akron-Princeville Fire Department, the Akron-Princeville Ambulance Service, or to a charity of the donor's choice.
