Obituary of Dorothy A. Caldwell Edelstein - Dorothy A. Caldwell, 85, a resident of Heritage Manor Nursing Home, Chillicothe , a long-time resident of Edelstein, died at 4:04 a.m. Friday, January 9, 2004 , at Proctor Hospital , Peoria . Born July 14, 1918 , in Tampico , IL , the daughter of Frank Frederick and Mabel Jessie Sturm Rasmussen, she married Gerald Steven Caldwell on November 9, 1935 , in Clinton , Iowa . He died December 17, 1996 , in Chillicothe . Three sisters and one great-granddaughter preceded her in death. Surviving is 1 son, Robert S. (and Carol) Caldwell of Edelstein, IL, 2 daughters, Judith (and Jerome) Elwell of Chillicothe, and Helen (and Bernie) Rock of Princeville, 8 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. She was a member of the Edelstein Congregational United Church of Christ and its Women's Fellowship. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 12, 2004 , at Edelstein Congregational United Church of Christ. Rev. Darrin Fish and Rev. Gerald Tupper will officiate. Visitation will be 1 ½ hours prior to the funeral service at the church. Burial will be in Prospect Cemetery , Dunlap. Memorial contributions may be made to her church.
