Obituary of Harley L. Catton

Princeville - Harley L. Catton, 77, of Princeville, died at 3:30 a.m. Monday, January 5, 2004 , at Methodist Medical Center Emergency Department.

Born May 8, 1926 at West Jersey, IL, the son of Carl and Myrtle Quine Catton, he married Lila M. Johnson on November 4, 1946 , in Belton , TX .

She survives, along with 2 sons, Larry E. (and Marjorie) Catton of Dunlap, IL, Stephen H. Catton, of Princeville, 2 daughters, Pam (and Don) Diver of Dunlap, and Timie Sue (and Terry) Rasmussen of Princeville, 9 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 3 brothers and 1 sister.

He was a WWII U.S. Army Veteran. He first worked as a section hand for the Atchison , Topeka , & Santa Fe Railroad for 13 years, then worked for Thermogas as a bulk driver for 25 years, retiring in 1986.

He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, where services will be held Thursday, January 8, 2004 , at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Harry Losey will officiate. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 7, 2004 , at the church fellowship hall. Burial will be in Princeville Cemetery .

Memorial contributions may be made to his church or to the American Lung Association.
