Obituary of Lyle Ingle

Princeville - Harry Lyle Ingle, 89, of Princeville, died at 4:30 a.m. Monday, January 12, 2004 , at Methodist Medical Center , Peoria .

Born October 6, 1914 , in West Jersey Township , Stark County , Illinois , the son of Leonard Marcellus and Euretta Mae Huffman Ingle, he married Louise DeBord on December 25, 1946 , in Toulon , Illinois . She survives.

Also surviving are 3 sons, Rob (and Danielle) Ingle of Princeville , IL , Randy (and Diane) Ingle of rural Princeville , IL , and Harold "Skip" (and Nancy ) Clark of Bartonville , IL ; 7 grandchildren; 1 great-grandson; and several nieces and nephews. His parents, one son, William Clark, and five brothers preceded him in death.

He began working on the Ray Belford farm at age 16. He was in the US Army from 1942 to 1945, serving in the European Theatre, landing at Utah Beach with the 4 th Armored Division, 66th Armored Field Artillery Battalion. After the war he farmed on the LeMay Farms in Princeville Township , then later began farming on his own, retiring in 1994.

He was a member of the Gold Star VFW Post 1255, Princeville , Illinois Township Officials, serving as Princeville Township Road Commissioner for many years, and a member of Monica United Methodist Church .

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. , Wednesday, January 14, 2004 , at Hammitt-Hott Funeral Home. Rev. Bill Bunnage will officiate. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 13, 2004, at Hammitt-Hott Funeral Home. Burial will be in Princeville Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Akron/Princeville Ambulance Service, Muscular Dystrophy Association or Monica United Methodist Church.
