Obituary of Violet M. Maxwell

Dunlap - Violet M. Maxwell, 72, of rural Dunlap, died 3:30 p.m. Sunday, August 22, 2004 , at OSF St. Francis Medical Center , Peoria .

Born November 29, 1931 , in Jenkins , Missouri , the daughter of Jesse Luther and Laura Luvena Cope Hancock, she married Orville L. Maxwell May 25, 1951 , in Cassville , MO. He survives.

Also surviving are 2 sons, Steve (and Jana) Maxwell of Media, PA, and Randy Maxwell of Peoria, IL; 1 daughter, Sandra (and Robert) Graham of Washington, IL; 4 grandchildren, Sean Maxwell, Andrea Maxwell, Stephanie Graham, and James Graham; 1 sister, Glenna Ray of East Lansing, MI; and 1 brother, Charles (and Kathy) Hancock of Tulsa, OK. Her parents and one brother, Harold Hancock preceded her in death.

She was a secretary at Long Rock Trucking in Princeville. Previously she worked at Illinois Central College and Limestone High School .

Cremation has been accorded.

Family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, September 2, 2004 , at Hammitt-Hott Funeral Home, Princeville. Rev. Rodney H. Repke will officiate. Graveside burial of ashes will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 3, 2004 , at Prospect Cemetery , Dunlap.

Memorial contributions may be made to Dunlap High School Band Boosters.
