Obituary of Terry A. Ness

Dunlap - Terry A. Ness, 51, of Dunlap, died 2:29 p.m. , Saturday, December 11, 2004 , at Methodist Medical Center , Peoria .

Born December 8, 1953 , in York , Pennsylvania , the son of Alfred E. and Martha M. Andrews Ness , he married Millie J. Shumaker on August 11, 1974 , in York , PA. She survives.

Also surviving are 3 sons, Terrence E. Ness of Eureka, CA, Matthew C. Ness of Ft. Collins, CO, and Andrew J. Ness of Normal, IL; 4 brothers, Dennis Ness, Barry Ness, and Ron (and Shelby) Ness all of York, PA, and Doug (and Katrina) Ness of Dover, PA; and 1 sister, Sandy Ness of Dover, PA. His parents preceded him in death.

He graduated with an Associate's Degree from York College of Pennsylvania. He worked as Human Resource and safety director for SC2 Supply Chain Company in Peoria , last working September 24, 2004 .

He was a member on the York City Council in York , PA , from 1980 to 1982.

He coached the Dunlap JFL (Junior Football League) for 11 years and was a Dunlap Summer Ball Coach for over 7 years.

He was a member of Prospect United Methodist Church , Dunlap, where he taught Sunday school, served as Administrative Council Chairman and Trustees Chairman, and was a member of the United Methodist Men.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, December 17, 2004 , at Prospect United Methodist Church . Rev. Mary Kathryn Pearce will officiate. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, December 16, 2004 at the church, as well one hour prior to funeral services on Friday. Cremation will be accorded following the services.

Memorial contributions may be made to Prospect United Methodist Church Endowment Fund, 300 E. Ash, Dunlap , IL 61525 , or to Habitat for Humanity, 800 SW Adams St. , Peoria , IL 61602 .
