Obituary of Glenn V. Streitmatter Speer - Glenn V. Streitmatter, 82, formerly of rural Speer, died at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, April 11, 2004 , at Toulon Health Care Center, where he was a resident. Born September 25, 1921 , in Princeville , Illinois , the son of Peter and Emma Kupfer Streitmatter, he married Daralene Cave Hagberg on September 25, 1966 , in Edelstein. She died July 6, 1999 , in Speer. Surviving are 1 daughter, Sharron (and Michael) Ryan of Edelstein, IL; 4 sisters, Sadie Streitmatter and Viola Streitmatter both of Princeville, IL, Elma Brown of Jacksonville, IL, and Laura Hartness of Peoria, IL; 1 granddaughter, Vickie Williams of Chillicothe, IL; 2 great-grandsons, Krystopher Williams and Tracy Williams both of Chillicothe, IL; several nieces and nephews; several great-nieces and great-nephews; and several great-great nieces and great-great nephews. His parents, two brothers and two sisters preceded him in death. He farmed in the Princeville area retiring in 1990. He was a former member of the Kewanee Moose Lodge. He also was a member of the Peoria County Farm Bureau. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 14, 2004 , at Hammitt-Hott Funeral Home, Princeville. Mr. Walter Herrmann will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to funeral services. Burial will be in Blue Ridge Cemetery , rural Edelstein. Memorial contributions may be made to Toulon Health Care Center in memory of Glenn Streitmatter or Wyoming Ambulance Service.
