Obituary of Gerald R. Cluskey
Brimfield - Gerald R. Cluskey, 81, of Brimfield, died at 1:50 p.m. Sunday, May 15, 2005 , at Apostolic Christian Restmor, Morton, where he was a patient for one
week.
Born April 3, 1924, near Brimfield, Illinois, the son of John H. and Florence Bristol Cluskey, he married Shirley Shaw on August 30, 1945, in Brimfield. She survives.
Also surviving are 4 sons, Gerald "Bob" Cluskey, Jr. of Carrollton, GA, Ron Cluskey of Elmwood, IL, Mark (and Molly) Cluskey of Morton, IL, and D. Brent (and Jane) Cluskey of Brimfield, IL; 8 grandchildren; and 1 brother, Donald (and Phyllis) Cluskey of La Mesa, CA. His parents and one brother Bernard Cluskey preceded him in death.
He attended Bradley University, Peoria. He farmed in the Brimfield area retiring in 1987. He formerly served as Township Clerk and Auditor of Jubilee Township. He also served on the Brimfield School Board and was one of the first board members of the Brimfield Health Association. He also was a member of the former Brimfield Farmer's Club.
He was a lifelong member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Brimfield, where a funeral mass will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 18, 2005. Rev. Lawrence Morrissey will officiate. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 17, 2005, at the church, with recitation of rosary at 7:30 p.m., and also ½ hour prior to funeral mass at the church on Wednesday. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Brimfield.
Memorial contributions may be made to Brimfield Dream Scholarship Fund or St. Joseph Catholic Church, Brimfield.
