Evelyn V. Dell, 96, of rural Princeville died at 10:20 p.m. on September 24, 2005, at Toulon Health Care and Rehabilitation Center, where she had resided since September 2004.

Born May 16, 1909, in Princeville to Oscar and Viella Gingrich Graves, she was married to Berwin Dell in Brimfield on October 6, 1932. He survives. Also surviving are two sons, Robert (Marge) Dell of Princeville and Larry Dell of Morton, six grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Nancy Dell, two sisters, and one brother.

She was the oldest member of Princeville Presbyterian Church where she had been a member for 84 years, joining at age 12 in 1921. She graduated from Princeville High School in 1927 and attended Illinois State Teacher’s College in Normal, Illinois. She was a school teacher at Blue School and Duncan School, both in rural Princeville.

Services will be held at her church at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 27, 2005. The Rev. Harry Losey will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria. Hammitt-Hott Funeral Home in Princeville is in charge of arrangements.
