Born January 10, 1915, the daughter of Charles and Pearle Jones Walliker, she married George F. Groeper on June 1, 1940, in Davenport, Iowa. He died November 3, 1972.
Surviving are 1 son, Jack (and Roberta) Groeper of rural Brimfield, IL; 3 daughters, Sandra "Sue" (and Homer) Robbins of Princeville, IL, Sheila (and Thomas) Wyard and Jayne Groeper both of Peoria, IL; 8 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and 3 sisters, Helene Ferguson of Edmond, OK, Darlene (and Ernest) Arnold of Benson, AZ, and June Ault of Fort Madison, IA. Her parents, one brother, and one granddaughter preceded her in death.
She was supervisor of the return goods department for Foster & Gallagher, retiring in 1980. She was a member of Peoria area bowling leagues, Quadrant Club of Peoria, Royal Neighbors of America, Princeville Women's Club, and the Princeville Historical Society. She also was a member of St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church, Princeville.
Funeral Mass will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, April 4, 2005, at St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church, Princeville. Monsignor Richard Soseman will officiate. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday, April 3, 2005, at Hammitt-Hott Funeral Home, Princeville, with recitation of Rosary at 6:00 p.m. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Kickapoo, IL.
