Princeville – Leonard Dean Grove, 71, of Princeville, died at 9:30 p.m. Friday, August 19, 2005, at Harry S. Truman Memorial Veterans’ Hospital, Columbia, MO.

Born July 4, 1934, in Washburn, IL, the son of Wilmuth Grove Danzer {father’s name is unavailable}, he married Patricia E. Schaffer on December 30, 1990, in Wallas, TX.

She survives, along with 1 son, Eric J. (and Robin) Grove of Ellisville, IL; 2 daughters, Vanessa (and Phil) Goedeke of Yates City, IL, and Linette (and Larry) Cramer of Norwood, IL; 15 grandchildren; 1 brother, George (and Roberta) Danzer of Bartonville; and 1 sister, Lois (and Bill) Wickwire of Pinckneyville, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A graduate of Elmwood High School, he was a sergeant in the U.S. Army from 1954 to 1957. He worked as a truck driver for Kroger in East Peoria for 29 years, retiring in 1996. He was a member of Teamster’s Local 627, Peoria, and of St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church, Princeville.

Cremation has been accorded. A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 29, 2005, at St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church. Monsignor Richard Soseman will officiate. Burial of ashes will follow in St. Mary of the Woods Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall following the graveside service.
