Obituary of Agnes E. Hegwood

Wyoming - Agnes E. Hegwood, 87, a resident of Toulon Health Care & Rehabilitation Center, formerly of Wyoming, died at 3:25 a.m. Monday, February 21, 2005, at Proctor Hospital, Peoria .

Born April 6, 1917, in Fiatt, Illinois, the daughter of Charley and Charlsie Rohrer Elliott. She first married John Potter, in 1939, and then later married Charles "Buck" Hegwood in 1973, in Galva. He died in 1996, in Iowa City, IA.

Surviving are 1 sister, Mary June Smith of Elmwood, IL; 2 nieces; and 1 nephew.

She attended Browns Business College in Peoria. She first worked for Peoria Dry Goods for several years. Later, she worked for 60 years for the Nash Family in Peoria Heights, retiring in 2001.

She was a 50-year member of the Wyoming Eastern Star, a member of the Giant Goose Club, Atkinson, and an honorary member of the Izaak Walton League, Atkinson.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Wyoming, where services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 25, 2005. Rev. Joe Hamilton will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral service at the church. Burial will be in Prospect Cemetery, Dunlap.
