Obituary of Robert F. Jackson
Wyoming - Robert F. Jackson, 79, of Wyoming , died at 4:57 p.m. Tuesday, April 19, 2005 , at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria, of complications from hip
surgery on March 13, 2005, in Texas .
Born October 9, 1925, in Peoria, the son of Everett and Anna McCurdy Jackson, he married Ruth Gibbs on February 10, 1946, in the First Presbyterian Church, Princeville.
She survives, along with 1 daughter, Linda (and Larry) Fritz of rural Princeville; 1 son, Steven (and Ann) Jackson of Wyoming; 4 grandchildren; 1 brother, Dean (and Irma Jean) Jackson of Speer, IL; and 1 sister, Phyllis Collins of Princeville. He was preceded in death by his parents and 1 infant son.
He was a life-long farmer in Valley Township, Stark County, Illinois. He owned and operated Jackson Sales & Service from 1968 to 1986, selling and servicing Oliver, White, and Case equipment. A 1970 graduate of Reisch Auction College, Mason City, Iowa, he owned and operated Col. Robert F. Jackson Auctioneering Service, Wyoming .
. He and his wife wintered at Siesta Retirement Village in Weslaco , Texas , for the past 3 years. He was a 50 year member of Wyoming Lodge #479, AF&AM, Scottish Rite Bodies, Valley of Peoria, and Mohommed Temple, Shrine, Peoria. He was a member of Stark Congregational Church in Stark, and Princeville United Methodist Church.
Cremation has been accorded. A memorial service will be at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, April 21, 2005 , at the Wyoming Funeral Home. Rev. Rex Hendrix will officiate. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. Thursday until the time of the services. Burial of ashes will be in Wyoming Cemetery .
