Obituary of Elizabeth L. Koehler
Edelstein – Elizabeth L. Koehler, 94, formerly of rural Edelstein, died at 4:50 a.m.
Wednesday, December 21, 2005, at Apostolic Christian Skylines, Peoria, where she was a resident for the past two years.
Born January 4, 1911, in Akron Township, Peoria County, Illinois, the daughter of Anton and Susanna Stichling Mangold, she married Herman F. Koehler on September 6, 1932, in Peoria. He died July 3, 1991, in Peoria, also preceding her in death were four sisters, and six brothers.
Surviving is one son, Norman (and Mary Ann) Koehler of rural Edelstein, IL; two daughters, Connie (and Hugo) De Andrea of Long Grove, IL, and Bonnie (and Walter) Geyer of Tremont, IL; 10 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
She and her husband farmed in rural Edelstein for 53 years, retiring in 1985. She was one of the founding members of the Chat-A-While Club. She also was a member of the Blue Ridge United Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be 7:00 p.m. Friday, December 23, 2005, at Hammitt-Hott Funeral Home, Princeville. Pastor Rex Hendrix will officiate. Visitation will be three hours prior to the funeral service at the funeral home. Private family burial will be in Blue Ridge Cemetery, rural Chillicothe.
