Obituary of Mary J. Matney

Princeville - Mary J. Matney, 76, of Princeville, died at 6:45 a.m. Wednesday, February 23, 2005, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, where she was admitted yesterday.

Born February 3, 1929, in Carrollton, MO, the daughter of Charles David and Gladys Pauline Myer Hynson, he married Dale M. Matney on September 22, 1950, in Carrollton.

He survives, along with with 3 daughters, Pamela Matney of Peoria, Sarah (and William) Watts, of Houston, TX, and Katherine Matney of Princeville; 3 grandchildren and 1 step-grandson. Her parents, and 1 sister, Norma Jean Finlayson, preceded her in death.

She was a grinder for ALCOA in Princeville for 17 years, retiring in 1984. She was a member of First Christian Church, Peoria.

Cremation has been accorded. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, February 26, 2005, at Hammitt-Hott Funeral Home. Rev. Dr. Bruce Dobyns will officiate. Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the service on Saturday.

Memorial contributions may be made to her church or to Akron-Princeville Ambulance Service.
