Obituary of George Pritchard

 

Speer -  George H. ”Jack” Pritchard, 89, formerly of Speer, died at 11:44 p.m. Thursday, June 16, 2005, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home, Chillicothe, where he was a resident since February 9, 2005. 

 

Born October 6, 1915, in Lawn Ridge, Illinois, the son of Joseph and Leah Estelle Pritchard, he married Marjorie Malone on February 23, 1952, in Lawn Ridge, IL.  She preceded him in death on January 21, 1990, in Toulon.  Also preceding him in death were 2 sisters, Ellen Pritchard and Eva Berchtold.

 

Surviving are 2 daughters, Pat Pritchard of East Peoria and Donna Pritchard of Peoria; 1 brother, Howard “Pete” Pritchard of Lacon, IL; and 1 sister, Hazel Mayne of Farmington, IL. 

 

He worked for HC Products in Princeville for several years before retiring in 1980.  A WWII U.S. Army veteran, he was a 50 year member of American Legion Post 248, Princeville, and the Disabled American Veterans.  He was also a 50 year member of the former Lawn Ridge Masonic Lodge, was a volunteer firefighter with the Speer Unit of the Wyoming Fire Department, and a former member of Speer Congregational Church. 

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 22, 2005, at Toulon Cemetery.  Rev. Pam Smith will officiate.  Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 21, 2005, at Hammitt-Hott Funeral Home, Princeville. 

 

Memorial contributions may be made to the Wyoming Ambulance Service.
