Monica- Howard L. Snider, 83, of Monica, died at 11:40 p.m., Saturday, July 16, 2005, at his home.

Born November 18, 1921 in Lowder, Illinois, the son of John & Etta Young Snider, he married Lela Simpson-Riggen on July 9, 1978, in Monica. She survives.
Also Surviving are 2 sons Howard L. “Dude” Snider, of Yates City, Illinois and George N. (and Patricia) Snider of Morton, Illinois; 4 Step-sons Ronald (and Marilyn) Riggen, Bartonville, Illinois, Roger Riggen, Las Vegas, Nevada, Lee (and Sherri) Riggen, Syracuse, Indiana, and Mark (and Tracey) Riggen, Peoria, IL; 3 Step-daughters Rose (and Harold) Ginger, Bartonville, IL, Rita (and Luther Austin, Monica, IL, and Tena Larner, Kendallville, Indiana; 2 Grandsons, 1 Step-Grandson, and 1 step-Granddaughter, 1 Step Great Grandson. His Parents, 1 step-son Earl Riggen, 4 brothers and 3 sisters preceded him in death.
He was a World War II Coast Guard Veteran. He worked for Caterpillar Retiring in 1982.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 19, 2005, at Hammitt-Hott Funeral Home, Princeville. Rev. Marc Brown will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral service. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Oak Hill, IL.
