Obituary of Viola L. Streitmatter

Princeville - Viola L. Streitmatter, 95, of rural Princeville, died at 7:55 p.m. Tuesday, April 12, 2005 , at Restmor Nursing Home, Morton, where she was a patient since April 4, 2005 .

Born February 3, 1910, in Akron Township, Peoria County, Illinois, the daughter of Peter and Emma Kupfer Streitmatter.

Surviving are 3 sisters, Sadie E. Streitmatter of Peoria, IL, Elma H. Brown of Jacksonville, IL, and Laura J. Hartness of Peoria, IL; several nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews. Her parents, two sisters, and 3 brothers preceded her in death.

She worked as a domestic housekeeper for several families in the Peoria and Princeville areas. She later worked in the Heat Treat Department of Caterpillar for 10 years. In 1947, she left Caterpillar to help on the family farm where she lived until her death.

She attended Apostolic Christian Church, Princeville.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 16, 2005, at Apostolic Christian Church, Princeville. Ministers of the Church will officiate. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, April 15, 2005, at Hammitt-Hott Funeral Home, Princeville, and from 9:00 to 9:45 a.m. at the Church on Saturday. Burial will be in Streitmatter Cemetery, Princeville.
