Obituary of Leo M. Tanney
Laura - Leo M. Tanney, 88, of Laura, died at 12:08 p.m. Wednesday, November 23, 2005, in the emergency room at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria.
Born October 18, 1917, in Peoria, Illinois, the son of Leo P. and Theresa Hardy Tanney, he married Grace A. Kelly on January 4, 1947, in Wyoming, IL. She died on April 2, 1996, in Laura.
Surviving are 1 daughter, Mary Ann (and Peter) Skuba of Chatham, IL; 4 sons, John Tanney and Edward (and Karen) Tanney both of Princeville, IL, Thomas (and Bev) Tanney of Dunlap, IL, and Donald (and Crystal) Tanney of Lexington, IL; and 9 grandchildren.
He farmed his entire life in Peoria County. He worked at Peoria County Soil Conservation Office and also at Stark Ag. He was a member of Peoria County Farm Bureau and St. James Catholic Church, Williamsfield.
Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 26, 2005, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Brimfield. Father Lawrence P. Morrissey will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church with recitation of the Rosary at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery, Bradford.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. James Catholic Church, Williamsfield, or to B.Y.E. Ambulance Service.
