Obituary of David A. Belford
Princeville – David A. Belford, 47, of Princeville, died at 10:10 a.m. Saturday,
December 2, 2006, north of Laura, Illinois.
He was born June 14, 1959, in Peoria, the son of Ray A. and Martha J. Westart Belford. He married Meta Csepregi on June 5, 1982, at Dunlap. She survives, along with one daughter, Kristen (and fiancé Jeremy Duckworth); and one son, Neil, all of Edelstein; his parents of Princeville; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by a brother, Steven Belford, in 1984, and his grandparents.
He was the service manager for Westart General Tire, Peoria, for over 23 years. For the past three years he worked as a mechanic for the Peoria County Highway Department, working out of Maxwell Station. He owned Belford’s Alignment Service, and formerly operated the former Phillips 66 station in Dunlap for several years. He was the Assistant Football Coach for Princeville High School for 15 years. He loved fishing, hunting, and the Chicago Bears.
He was a member of St Mary of the Woods Catholic Church, where funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday. Monsignor Richard Soseman will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 – 8:00 pm Tuesday at Hammitt-Hott Funeral Home with a scripture service to follow at 8:00. Burial will be in St Mary of the Woods Cemetery.
