Obituary of Ruth M. Best
Princeville – Ruth M. Best, 94, of Princeville, died at 6:36 p.m. Friday, July 21,
2006, in the emergency room at Methodist Medical Center, Peoria.
She was born January 15, 1912, in Kewanee, Illinois, the daughter of David E. and Gertrude Heinz Peacock, she married Harry “Bill” Best on May 18, 1934, in Kentland, Indiana. He died May 28, 1991, in Toulon.
Surviving are one daughter, Barbara (and Loren) Dallinger of Princeville, IL; two grandchildren, Brent (and Michele) Dallinger of Princeville, IL, and Beth Dallinger of Bloomington, IL; and two great-grandsons, Brian and Michael Dallinger both of Princeville, IL. Her parents, one sister and one brother preceded her in death.
She attended Western Illinois University, Macomb, IL, and University of Illinois, Champaign, IL. She was a bookkeeper for Frank Graves Oil Company in Princeville for 20 years. She was a 67 year member of the First Presbyterian Church, Princeville, where she had served as a deaconess.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
Graveside services will be at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 25, 2006, at Princeville Cemetery, Princeville. Rev. Harry Losey will officiate. Family will receive friends at the First Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall following the graveside service.
Memorial contributions may be made to her church or Akron/Princeville Ambulance Service.
