Obituary of Marcia Joan Conley
Princeville – Marcia Joan “Jo” Conley , 77, a retired elementary school teacher
passed away in her home in Princeville, IL, on Monday morning, June 26, 2006.
Born June 1, 1929, in Tuscola, Illinois, to Peter Sylvester and Nelle Haley Harrington. She was married on June 17, 1961, in Arcola, IL, to John Francis Conley. He survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Thomas (and Jennifer) Conley of DeKalb, IL, and Patrick Conley of Princeville, IL; one daughter, Kelly (and Larry) Gregory of East Peoria, IL; three brothers, Thomas Harrington of Everett, WA, Patrick Harrington of Paris, IL, and James Harrington of Arcola, IL; two sisters, Elizabeth Inyart of Charleston, IL, and Helen Harrington of Arcola, IL; six grandchildren, Ellen and Nelle Conley of DeKalb, IL, and Madeline, Jack, Grace, and Drew Conley all of Peoria, IL. One brother, Father Barnabus Harrington of St. Meinred, IN, and one sister, Mary Jane Saunders of Arcola, IL, preceded her in death.
She taught school for 36 years retiring from Princeville Grade School 5th grade in 1988. She was a volunteer for 15 years at Methodist Medical Center. She was an active member of St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church in Princeville, IL, where she was a lector, catechism teacher, and sang in the church choir. She also was a member of the Altar & Rosary Society.
A Mass of Christian burial will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 29, 2006, at St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church with Rev. Msgr. Richard R. Soseman officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 28, 2006, at Hammitt-Hott Funeral Home, Princeville, with recitation of the rosary at 8:00 p.m. Burial will be in St. Mary of the Woods Cemetery, Princeville.
