Peoria – Dixie Dawn Doss, 68, of Peoria, passed away at 7:50 a.m. Friday, March 10, 2006, at her residence.

Dixie was born October 11, 1937, in Peoria, Illinois, the daughter of Edward and Marguerite Cotton Beckwith, she married Robert E. Doss on January 7, 1989, at the Northwest Church of Christ, Peoria. He survives.

Also surviving are 3 sons, Ricky McWhirter, Terry McWhirter, and Rodney McWhirteryoung; 1 daughter, Tammy Stubblefield; 12 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and 1 brother, Donald Beckwith. Her parents, one brother and one sister preceded her in death.

She worked at Scandia Restaurant at Bergner’s and at Jumer’s Castle Lodge, both in Peoria. She was a member of Glen Oak Christian Church, Peoria.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 12, 2006, at Northwest Church of Christ, Peoria. Rev. Dr. Paul B. Isom will officiate. Family will receive friends following the funeral service. Cremation will be accorded following the service.

Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Dixie Doss in care of CEFCU.
