Obituary of Jean Jones

Elmwood – Doris Jean Jones, 81, a resident of Maple Manor Apartments, Canton, formerly of Elmwood, died at 1:04 pm Sunday, December 10, 2006, at Heartland Health Care Center, Canton, where she had been a patient for two days.

Born April 25, 1925, in Knox County, Illinois, the daughter of Willis and Iva Teets Camp, she married Robert E. Jones on February 9, 1947, in Peoria.  He died January 7, 1998, in Elmwood.  Also preceding her in death was one sister, Elva Bohanan.

Surviving is one sister, Maxine Worsfold of Elmwood; three nieces, Diana (and Mike) Theobald of XuZhou, China, Lavon Buehl of Marshall, WI, and Patricia (and James) Boon of Pekin; four nephews, Richard (and Collette) Buehl of Pekin, Ronald (and Suzie) Worsfold of Elmwood, Dennis (and Anne) Worsfold of Trivoli, and David (and Shirley) Worsfold of Goodfield; and there are eleven great nieces & nephews and several great great nieces and nephews.

She worked as a dispatcher for Laidlaw Transit, Farmington, for several years before retiring.  Previously she worked for Sears in Oakbrook, IL, and Edson Smith & Sons, Elmwood.  She was a member of the Farmington Moose Lodge #1571, and was of the Methodist faith.

Cremation has been accorded.  A memorial service will be at 1:00 pm Friday, December 15, 2006, at Hammitt-Hott Funeral Home, Princeville.  Rev. Rex Hendrix will officiate.  There will be no visitation.  Private burial of ashes will take place in Princeville Cemetery.
