Obituary of David E. Kieser

Princeville – David E. Kieser, 90, of Princeville, died at 3:35 p.m. Tuesday, June 13, 2006, at Proctor Hospital, Peoria.

Born April 28, 1916, in Morton, Illinois, the son of David and Martha Rassi Kieser, he married Ruth I. Knobloch on August 18, 1940, in Princeville, IL. She died July 22, 2002, in Peoria.

Surviving are one son, Verle (and Lavonne) Kieser of Buda, IL; two daughters, Karen (and Harold) Steiner of Princeville, IL, and Patricia (and David “Skip”) Meister of Peoria, IL; 10 grandchildren, Wes (and Lena) Kieser, Kurt (and Janet) Kieser, Perry (and Krista) Kieser, Brent (and Fawn) Kieser, Robin (and Darwin) Stahl, Tricia (and Joe) Walder, Hope (and Lance) Bucher, Holly (and John) Zimmerman, Kimberly (and Dana) Plattner, Jill (and Jesse) Schroeder; and 28 great-grandchildren. His parents, one great-granddaughter, one great-grandson, five sisters and three brothers preceded him in death.

He and his wife farmed in Valley Township for 42 years, until retiring in 1983. He volunteered for Proctor Hospital, and Methodist Medical Center, both in Peoria, for many years. He also volunteered for the American Red Cross. He was a member of the Princeville Apostolic Christian Church and became a Minister in 1953, serving for 36 years, 12 years as Elder. He retired from the ministry in 1989.

His life was full of Love, freely given to all.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 16, 2006, at the Princeville Apostolic Christian Church. Ministers of the church will officiate. Visitation will be from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. and 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Thursday, June 15, 2006 at the Hammitt-Hott Funeral Home, Princeville, and from 9:00 to 9:45 a.m. on Friday at the church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Apostolic Christian Timber Ridge in Morton, IL, Apostolic Christian Skylines, Peoria, IL, or any charity of the donor’s choice.
