Obituary of Bernadine H. Leverton

Princeville – Bernadine H. Leverton, 102, formerly of rural Princeville, passed photoaway at 10:10 a.m. Friday, May 5, 2006, at Heritage Manor, Chillicothe, where she was a resident for the past two years.

Born June 15, 1903, in Bloomington, Illinois, the daughter of Harry and Belle Willard Merrill, she married Dewey H. Sloan on September 6, 1924.  She later married John Leverton, he preceded her in death.  Also preceding her in death were two brothers, Frank and Lyle Merrill, twin sister, Bernice Manley, and one grandson.

Surviving are one son, Armond (and Joyce) Sloan of rural Princeville, IL; one daughter, Juanita Eberle of Littleton, CO; five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.

She graduated from the Academy of Our Lady, Peoria.  She was a caregiver for elderly ladies and children for many years until retiring and moving in with her son in rural Princeville.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 8, 2006, at Hammitt-Hott Funeral Home, Princeville.  Rev. Paul Wier will officiate.  Visitation will be one hour prior to funeral service on Monday at the funeral home.  Burial will be in Chillicothe City Cemetery.
