Obituary of Cleo L. McLaughlin

Dunlap -  Cleo L. McLaughlin, 70, of Dunlap, died at 9:55  a.m. Saturday,
April 15,  2006 at her  residence.
 
Born November 1,  1935 in Medina Township, Peoria  County, IL, the daughter of Guy  P. and Virginia L. Tucker Gibbs, she married Charles E. McLaughlin, Jr. on February 6, 1954 in Peoria, IL.  He preceded  her in death on July 19, 1988.

Surviving are two  sons, Terry McLaughlin (fiance, Pam Bollinger) of Peoria, IL and Teddy  (Amber) McLaughlin of Henry, IL;  two daughters, Deborah (Nick) Hoffman of  Varna, IL and Diane Motayne of Clinton, IL; five grandsons, (Joey and  Tracy Mclaughlin; Clayton (Amanda) Hoffman; Joseph Spencer and Charles  McLaughlin; two grand-daughters Mary Spencer and Sophia McLaughlin, three  great-grandchildren, Kailea, Damion and Cheyenne Hoffman.  Also surviving  are two sisters, Kay (Lawrence) Bartman of Kewanee,  IL and Susette (Tom) Tegtmeyer of Bonita Springs, FL, and one brother Dale  Darlene) Gibbs of Roseville, IL. She was also preceded in death by her parents;  one sister, Virginia M. (Gibbs) Donath and daughter-in-law Cathy (Morrell)  McLaughlin.

She worked for the  Dunlap School System in the cafeteria from 1973 - 1983.  She then went  to work for Ace Rx as a pharmacy technician in Lake of the  Woods, Dunlap, until the  death of her husband in 1988 when she then became a full-time homemaker.   

She was a member of Prospect United Methodist Church, Dunlap, and the  Dunlap American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post #1078.  She was also an avid  Chicago Cub fan and an active supporter of Dunlap High School  Baseball.

Funeral services will  be at 3:00  p.m. Wednesday, April 19,  2006, at Prospect United Methodist Church.  Reverend Mary  Kathryn Pearce will officiate.  Visitation will be held from 12:00 to 3:00  p.m.  Wednesday, April 19,  2006 at the church.   Burial will be in Prospect Cemetery,  Dunlap.

In lieu of flowers  memorial contributions may be made to Prospect United Methodist Church Building  Fund or a charity of the donor's choice. Hammitt-Hott Funeral  Home, Princeville is in charge of arrangements.
