She was born April 14, 1918, in Dellwood, IL, the daughter of James Leroy & Emma West Reynolds, she married Harold H. Peel on October 21, 1939, in Peoria, IL.  He died on January 1, 1993.

Lucille grew up in or near the towns of Xenia & Maroa in Southern Illinois, moving to Decatur and then to Peoria, where she met her husband while working at the A & P Store.  Later she worked in filing at Caterpillar for approximately 10 years prior to her husband’s retirement.

She was quite active in the Christian Women’s Fellowship of Glen Oak Christian Church in the 1950’s and 1960’s and participated in many activies with Von Steuben School Mother’s Club while her children were in school.  For the past 25 years, Lucille was an active member of nondenominational Christian Fellowship here in Peoria area and in California.

Lucille, “Auntie Lu” to her nieces and nephews, was first and foremost a stay-at-home Mom and homemaker.  Family dinners were not complete without her delicious rolls.  She loved gardening, was a beautiful seamstress and an avid quilter.  All her quilting was done by hand with small even stitches.
