Obituary of Rita D. Stake

Lawn Ridge – Rita D. Stake, 58, of Lawn Ridge, formerly of Princeton, Tiskilwa, & Henry, died at 1:10 p.m. Saturday, April 1, 2006, at her residence.

Rita was born June 6, 1947, in Princeton, the daughter of Walter & Dorothy Arterberry Babcock. She married Larry A. Stake on December 24, 1982, in Henry.

He survives, along with one son, Michael (and Betty) Hinderliter of Woobridge, VA; one daughter, Karla (and Jim) Galpin of Williamsfield; one step-daughter, Denise Wyman, and one step-son, Tracy Stake, both of Tampa, FL; seven grandchildren & one great-grandson. Her parents and one sister preceded her in death.

She worked for L.R. Nelson Company for 35 years as a machine operator and assembler until retiring in 2005. She then worked for five weeks as a cashier at the Par-a-dice Casino until she became ill. She enjoyed playing bingo all over the Midwest.

Cremation has been accorded. A memorial service will be at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 5, 2006, at Hammitt-Hott Funeral Home, Princeville. Pastor Howard Bedell will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. Wednesday until the time of the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the South Side Mission, Peoria.
