Obituary of Robert A. Tucker

Chillicothe – Robert A. Tucker, 78, of Chillicothe, Illinois, died at 12:20 a.m. Saturday, July 22, 2006, at Blessing Hospital, Quincy, Illinois.

He was born December 31, 1927, in Dunlap, Illinois, the son of Burt and Ethel Rodgers Tucker, he married Faye M. Taylor on September 11, 1950, in Peoria, IL. She died on October 31, 2002, in Peoria.

Surviving are three sons, Robert D. (and Barbara) Tucker, and Roger A. (and Jenny) Tucker of Henry, IL, and Ronny L. (and Patricia) Tucker of Toulon, IL; one daughter, Regina (and Jerry) Brown of Henry, IL; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one sister, Emma Douglas of Bourbonnais, IL. His parents, two sisters, one brother, and one infant brother preceded him in death.

He was a United States Army Veteran, serving during the Korean War. He was a member of the Dunlap American Legion Post #1078.

He first worked at Caterpillar Tractor Company, and then he was a machinist for ARADMAC in Corpus Christi, TX. He then transferred to the Rock Island Arsenal. He last worked as a machinist for J&L Steel in Hennepin from 1969 to 1989.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 25, 2006, at Hammitt-Hott Funeral Home, Princeville. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, July 24, 2006, at Hammitt-Hott Funeral Home. Burial will be in Prospect Cemetery, Dunlap, with military rites conducted by Dunlap American Legion Post #1078.
